how to rearrange slides in lightroom?

I am new and am trying to put together a slide show. I have the images on the grid, but can't move them.
I want to rearrange the ordering of them.
And I can't find the answer in any book.
I did uncheck all the boxes in View options- that did not help.
Help!

Hi jimv,

I always like to base slideshows on a collection and not on a folder. Not only because changing the sort order is easier but also because then choosing the number and types of pictures is much easier. They can reside in may different folders and still be used together. In fact in most of my slideshows the pictures are from different shoots, dates, etc. and moving these to a separate folder would take them out of their original positions and moving files on disk is much more laborious than just putting them in a collection. Finally in this way one picture can be used in different slideshows without any problem.

And a Collection will remember the setting you use for a Slideshow for that Collection. With LR 2.x you can create a Collection and Target it so adding images for a slideshow is easy.
