How do you set it up again so that if you reject photos in the library with the X key, you will immediately go to the next photo. TIA
 
Set caps lock.
 
Or hold down Shift and press X.

Another option is to set the Library Filter to Unpicked and Picked. As soon as you reject a photo, it's hidden.
 
Another hint:
Keep the left hand four fingers hovered over the four keys [Tilde] [1] [2] [3].
The [Tilde] key will toggle Flag Pick / Remove Flag, and the 1,2,3 keys can add a Star Rating.

As above- With CapsLock 'on' -any one key press will advance to next image.

I vote for this solution, as it's what I do. 99.9% of the time I don't want to see the rejected photos in the filmstrip or grid view anyway.

I don't vote for any one method. The like to keep the options in mind and be flexible.
