How to get video movement out of Imported iphone images so they will work in Develop?

I recently imported some images from my iphone 13 to Lightroom. When I put them into the develop mode it tells me that I can't edit video. The iphone captures about two seconds of video even when I think I am taking a still photo. How can I remove the movement so I can then develop and edit in Lightroom. Is there something I need to do in the phone settings so that this doesn't happen? I have played around with some of the images and got them to be still and editable but don't know what I did for that to happen.

You can 'Capture a Frame' from videos in Loupe view creating a JPG of the capture-

But that would be a PIB for many photos done one-by-one.

Some time ago I helped a person that had done an overseas trip with a new camera that took a small video of every shot she took- thousands!
The only help I could suggest was to use a Plugin Extract JPGs from Previews Plugin and thus create a JPG from every 'video preview' with one step. It worked well.
The JPGs were as per the first frame of each video- not a problem, as that is usually the image envisioned when the shutter was pressed.
If 1:1 previews were pre-built, I assume that the JPGs would be the best resolution (pixel size) possible from the video clips.

Thank you Rob. When I open the frames and is it best to try to click on the first one? I don't have that many that I'm going to edit so your first option should work for me.

That is a very subjective question!
If you have the time to view each 'video' (beginning to end) then you may well find a moment in time that will make a 'better' image. 'Time' is yours to do as you please :)

I don't know for sure (I have a 12), but I think you can turn off Live Mode and get a single shot.

This is leaving me with 1.2 MB file sizes which I don't think will let me do much if I want to print it. I need to figure out how change my phones camera to get best size should I need it.

That's interesting. My 12 M pixel HEIC files from my iPhone 12 are 2.14 Mb This is "full size".
You are not seeing the full size file.

You will be able to get good, imo, 4x6 prints from these; but not much larger.

I also use the LR mobile app to shoot HDR .dng files These are still 12 MPixel, but are about 18.9 MB in size.
