I have many files that have the "?" symbol indicating the source image file is missing. How can I apply a filter to find these files?

Which version of Lightroom danthi?

I know how to fix or remove missing files when I find them, but my question is how can I find them quickly by using a smart collection or filter to show all missing files. This is so I don't have to manually sift through the entire catalog looking for the ? icon on each image.

Hi Danthi

Ok, that helps. I'd definitely recommend updating to 2.1, as that's fixed many of the bugs on 2.'.

To find the missing ones, here's step by step instructions complete with pictures: http://www.lightroomqueen.com/lightroomqueen/2'samples/missingphotos2'.pdf

Ah, my apologies danthi.

Simply right-click on the highest level folder, and select ‘Synchronize Folder’ from the menu. That'll bring up a dialog. Don't click sychronize - click the ‘Show Missing Photos’ button and that will create a temporary collection in the Catalog panel, which you can right-click on to delete once you’ve finished.
