How to apply a function to the button back to website?

hello,

I am making an update of my Web site and I want to use the marvellous galleries of lightroom.
I have already my basic pages and i only have to put my galleries.

My question is:

how to apply a function to the button "back to website"?

I mean, my galleries will be in different pages that my site(like pop up) and i would like that when one click on the button this page closes oneself.

Is it possible to assign this kind of command to this button?

Lightroom has a few customisation options but could allow a bit more user configuration - hopefully in future releases. But I agree that the pages are very pretty and easy to set up.

To answer your question - I've just checked LR1.2 and there are one or two places where you can place links.

If you choose an html template, you can put a link in the 'identity plate' and in the 'contact' sections. You can write whatever you want in both of these sections, for example, instead of contact information you could enter 'back to home page' or something similar for the label and the http address of your home page for the actual link. Similarly with the identity label - just label it as your main website and enter the link to your home page in the space provided.

The flash pages don't allow you to link the identity plate but still have a spot for linking contact information.

All of the options are in the right hand panel on the lightroom screen. The contact info is in the 'site info' section just above the colour palette. You have to scroll down a bit to get to the identity panel option, which is in the 'appearance' section just below the colour palette. EDIT- the identity panel seems to be in different places on the panel depending on which template you use. Sometimes it's in the site info section not the appearance section!

If you have any experience with creating web pages, you could probably use frames or iframes to put the gallery into, then you can have all the links you want.

Thanks for your explanation, i'm not a web designer but i know few things about web editing.
I know how to make a link to my main pages, but my problem is to give the attribute of closing the window to the "back to website" button.

I don't know if i can apply this fonction by editing the xml or something like that.

Check The Turning Gate or Lightroom Galleries for examples of Web Galleries and indexing options. If I remember correctly, they offer suggestions for embedding links back to a main page.

Hi Nik, Sorry, I misunderstood what you wanted. Is there a particular reason why you want to have a button to close the window?

IMO most people just click the the browsers "X" to close the window (either on the window tab or at the top of the browser itself). On my system if I close the window from a button within the page, I get a message popup saying "the webpage is trying to close the window, do you want to proceed" or similar - then I have to click "yes" or "ok" - which is a bit annoying

There are javascripts around if you want to do it, but it probably means getting inside the page code.
