How to add a slide show or web gallery??

Hi
I know it can be done, but can not figure out how. I own a wesite www.yorkshirebirder.co.uk and would like to upload a gallery, from Lightroom, if you look at my site you will see a gallery page, however I have to upload a photo one at a time, and can only upload 4 photos, could some please point me in the right direction.

As that's a PHP based gallery, you probably have a hidden page for admin on the gallery. Lightroom can't interface it it from there. You can upload galleries from Lightroom into folders via FTP, but these will need to be linked from the galleries page (or with an auto index program like those from the http://theturninggate.net).

If you want to use the PHP gallery, Export the photos and then upload them. The 4 image limit is probably related to the gallery itself.

the slightly longer answer might be,

you will need a link on your current page to a gallery page that you can create in lightroom.

If you take a look at theTurningGate, Matthew has a great autoindex. since you have php on your site, it should work.

The basic idea is to setup an index page (with no images). This index page looks for all the collection of images below it and creates a table of contents. Matthew has a group of galleries that are all compatible with his AutoIndex.

So, you can take a group of photos, download it in a subdirectory of the AutoIndex and it will appear. You will still need a link to that 'table of contents' from your main site to people can find it.

Hi, I would like to say thankyou to both who helped me with this "thread" I am now able to upload gallerys with Lightroom. If you have the time have a look at my gallery section on my site www.yorkshirebirder.co.uk all I have to now is rebuil the gallery with Lightroom........Mmmm this will take time, but I feel the results will be worth the effort.
