How long

This is what i have done, i exported my catalog 96 ''' images with previews to my laptop. I was on a four days tour and just added keywords to this catalog, using my laptop. it was maybe 4''' images that i added keyword to.
When i come home i imported this catalog to my main catalog, and i marked that i just wanted the metadata and adjustment. But this is is taking forever, two hour, and its still working.

Is this normal, ore should it go faster?

It's having to check each and every file to see whether you've made changes. Something along the lines of 96'''x96''' times.

If you know which images you keyworded, I might be tempted to export those images to a new catalog on your laptop, and then just import that catalog into your desktop catalog. Should be quicker.

By the way it is amazing to bring all my images with me on a tour.
And then work on it by adding keywords, after the import all images was updated. Great!
I just love Lightroom, it is a great tool!
