I've installed CS4 and GF6 but I am stumped as to how I get an upsized image from GF6 as a jpeg to my desktop so I can send off to a professional printer.

I've downloaded the GF6 manual but it doesn't seem to make this clear.

It exports a PSD image back into Lightroom, so now do I have to re-export it with Lightroom parameters?

I did that but all it does it add 2mb of info on a 3'x24 image so I somehow suspect it hasn't captured all the upsized goodies.

Many thanks,

Adrian

Aaaaaw, are we ignoring you?

I haven't got time to try it right now, but I'd guess that if you're setting your size in the GF interface, you should be good to go. I do have GF now though, so tell me all of the settings you're using, and the file you're starting with, and I'll give it a shot a bit later.

Aha!!!! signs of life! :D

Many thanks Victoria.

I am just trying to work out if I am doing the right thing or not in Exporting an image from Lightroom that has been upsized in GF6.

Here's the deal. I export an image into GF6, upsize it to 3'x24inches, the file says it's 255mb and then send it back to Lightroom. All okay, the PSA or PSD or whatever it is appears there. Looks great. Whacko the chook!

Now I need to convert that to a JPEG to send it to a professional printer.

Do I just treat this as I would any other normal file and Export it as I would normally?

Ie, I go into Lightroom Export and size it as a 3'x24inch JPEG with optimum quality and export it to my desktop. Is that it?

When I've done that the file ends up at 4'mb. I know GF6 compresses it when it's sent back to Lightroom, and then it's probably compressed further as a JPEG, but do I just Export the upsized image as normal without any particular settings or workaround?

Many thanks,

I don't think GF6 uses it's own compression/format especially when in sends it back to Lightroom as Lightroom only reads, tiffs, jpegs, psd files and oh yea RAW...

Anyway just export it like any other file.

Many thanks everyone...Mark, do I need to untick the "resize to fit" box every time I export for Lightroom, or only when I'm exporting an upsized GF image?
