Please can someone tell me if I can export a contact sheet in Lightroom - so I can take the file into my lab and have it printed by them? I can only see options to output via my printer.

Thanks

Welcome and please take a moment to fill in your signature in the UserCP top left of page.
Thanks and enjoy!!

I was looking through the print to pdf options and saw the Save to iPhoto workflow. I changed it up to save the files to the desktop as JPEGs. You can open the workflow in Automator and change the file type, naming conventions or file destination.

Here it is: pdf_to_jpg.zip

Save it to the PDF Services folder in the main system Library. It will then be available under the PDF menu in the print dialog box.

Thanks for all your help! I installed the zip file into the PDF folder. Not sure how I now export the contact as a jpeg though? I have tried a few of the options 'save pdf to jpeg' not sure what happens when I click? Can you explain. The 'save as PDF' works great, but would like the jpeg option!?

You unzipped the file, right?

When you go to the PDF menu in the print dialog, it should look something like this:
print.png

I set the rename step of the workflow to show the action when it's run so that the files can be renamed to something relevant during the workflow. When it's running this dialog should pop up:
rename.png

After running this, you should see the files on your desktop. I don't think that I used any proprietary actions in the workflow. I'll check it out and see if it works on my G4.

That did it!

Thanks so much! That did the trick! Installed it and it now exports to the desktop - perfect!

After all that PDF will probably be easier to get printed as colour lazers from your average print shop but jpeg is perfect for the lab.

I am travelling on the road with a band for a while and obviously can't carry a printer with me. Thanks again! Way beyond the call of duty.

Thank the lord for people like yourself. Just changed to using Lightroom from Apple's Aperture software so I have been learning whilst trying to output work. I use a Nikon D3 and Aperture can't process the D3 RAW files. I am really pleased I changed because Lightroom file management is so much better + the layout looks better and it seems quicker. Aperture is a bit clunky!
