How do I duplicate a collection?

Hi folks.

how do I duplicate a collection so I can edit it and save it under a new name.

For example I've just created a smart collection with a whole lot of rules. I now want to create another collection identical to the first but with one rule changed. is there a way to do this without building the 2nd collection from scratch?

The easiest way is to Export the smart Collection as a "*.lrsmcol" file. You can the immediately re-import it and rename it.
In the Collections Panel, you right-click on the smart collection that you want to duplicate, choose "Export Smart Collection Settings..." Then, Right-click again on the Collections Panel and choose Import. Then you can rename the new imported Smart Collection.
