I have the Adobe cloud package for LR and PS. I checked the adobe cloud for LR and it is saying I/m current for LR. But I'm not. I have the new Canon 5D mark IV and its not updating for my camera lens.

If you have been updated to LRCC2015.7, It would have been in the last 30 days or so. LRCC2015.7 was released about a week before Apple released MacOS 10.12 (Sierra) Once you have updated to LRCC2015.7, it is ready for you to update to Sierra.
Click on the Adobe CC Application Manager app that runs as a background task on your menu bar. It will tell you if you are needing to update any of the apps in your subscription.
While you are at it, once you figure out where you are, you could update your LightroomForums user profile to reflect the current LR version and OS version
