How can I copy an LR folder between two Apple machines?

Hi everybody
I work with two Apple machines (see my signature); given that I make sure to have the same identical folder on the two HDD, my question is: can I copy folders and collections metadata from one Mac to the other?
E.g.: I created a collection in LR working on my Powerbook, can I replicate it on the iMac just, say, exporting only the metadata of that collection?
Hope I did put things the right way, please bear my translation :-[.

File > Export as Catalog is for sending work from one machine to another. You have the options to include the negatives (originals) and the previews. The output is a folder which you can move to the other computer - examine the folder in Finder and you'll see the images and a small catalogue).
