Hiding LR Default Presets?

Is there a way to hide or get rid of LR's default presents that came with LR?

I just keep that folder closed all the time. If you want to remove them, on a Mac they're in /Applications/Adobe Lightroom 2.app/Contents/PlugIns/Develop.lrmodule/Contents/Resources/templates. You could probably just remove them, though I haven't actually tried that. Not sure where they are on Windows.

Thanks for the hint Mark, I've been sort of looking for where that stuff is stored on Windows for awhile, and not had much luck. Well I've found it, but I'm not sure it's a help.

In sysdrive:\Program Files\Adobe\Adobe Photoshop Lightroom 2.3 are several files *.lrmodule, including a file name similar to a part of the path you mentioned on Mac, i.e. develop.lrmodule. All of the default develop presets are embedded in that file in a format very similar to that of the ordinary *.lrtemplate files.

That said, you may be able to tweak around in there, but it seems to be an awfully complex file structure to be willy-nilly deleting presets in 'chunks'.

There is an option in LR to store the presets in the catalogue so you may not find them on the disk if this is your setting.

Nik, these are the built-in presets, not the user presets. And in fact FYI, even if you choose to store the user presets 'in the catalog', they are actually maintained in a separate disk-file, although not in the usual 'Application Data' folder tree.

Patrick, no, he was tactfully reminding me to spell his name correctly. alt-13' is the keyboard code for the French e, accent acute. i.e., é

You can pull out the default presets as described above, but they will come back when you install the next Lightroom update.
