I have a Wacom GD '6'8 U that I've happily used for years...what a great product.
In Lightroom 2, though, I had a huge problem: trying to use adjustment sliders in Develop and other places, the cursor would mush along, lag behind the cursor for 1 or 2 seconds, then snap to where I was holding the pen...clearly making editing in LR pretty much unworkable. I fiddled around, looked on line, couldn't find a solution, then called Wacom tech support, very friendly and helpful.
I updated my driver, it was a few versions old, but that didn't solve the problem. The techie said Adobe has been notified that it's their problem, as Wacom has had tons of calls about Lightroom.
But we tried some workarounds which worked!
Here they are:
Go into control panel, select classic view, then select the Wacom module. When it opens, double click on your tablet icon at the top of the dialogue. It opens to a Tablet Mode dialog. Check the Standard Mode radio button, OK and close out.
Next, in Control Panel, go to Pen and Input devices. Under the tab Pen Options, go down to the following Pen action: Press and hold. Click on Settings. When the dialogue Press and Hold Settings opens, deselect the checkbox in the upper left corner that says Enable press and hold for right-clicking. OK that.
You're back in the Pen and Input Devices dialogue. Click on the Flicks tab. Uncheck the box in the upper left corner, Use flicks to perform common actins etc.
Click apply, then OK out of that. GO BACK to the Pen Options tab and make sure the Press and hold setting you just made above didn't recheck itself. In other wods, make sure Enable press and hold for right-clicking is still UNCHECKED.
Close out of that and your sliders will now cooperate as they should in LR 2.3, which is the version I have.
The techie said there are other work arounds for different systems. It this doesn't work for you, call their tech support, they're great folks and you can usually get them pronto.
This workaround may disable some other pen function you need, but at least for my system, which is Vista 64 bit, and my style of working, it's now working great.
BTW, never had these problems in any other Adobe programs, it's unique to LR.
Love Lightroom! After years of PS and Bridge, (CS3), I'm digging the elegant workflow of LR 2.3.
