hey guys,I'm pretty desparate here.although I'm a nikon guy, I've given my wife a canon G1' for her birthday, cause I'd heard and read everywhere that it's a nice little machine, but also tough and it's got a viewfinder.so here we go, we shoot raw and some movies and puts them on a SD card.canon recommends formatting the card in the camera, so we do that and now my mac isn't able to mount the card on the desktop, but LR imports the file allright, but...the movies can't be downloaded with the mac, as lightroom says it can't read them.now the ending is .mov and my wife's PC plays them with quicktime.but is there a way of downloading them with the mac ?I've heard some horror stories about formatting SD cards with the mac and then they were not readable anymore and other funny stuff.any ideas?cheers stephan

Yeah, you're quite right to format the card in the camera.

Lightroom won't be able to download them, but you should be able to copy them off using Finder. Any idea why it won't mount? Check the menus and find the connection setting - something like PTP or Mass Storage - and see if changing that helps.
