Help Plse! I upgraded to Lr 2.3 and all photos are missing

Hi,
I'm a newb to Lr.
Can somebody please tell me how I can get my photos to show up in the upgraded version?

I had a strict backup system. Do I need to re-import them from the ircat file?

Also, how can I change the Library Path destination? Lr System info tells me it is going to C:My documents folder. I want to direct it to a larger drive (D)

I am using Win XP 3 :?

I suspect you've created yourself a new catalog. Try going to "Open Recent" in the File menu and see whether there's another catalog that contains your files.

Let's get that straightened out first, then we'll work on moving your files to your other drive.

Just to be clear, re-importing is almost always the wrong choice.
As Mark says, let's try everything else first. If his Open Recent suggestion doesn't do it, ask back.

I did what you suggested and nothing happened. All the previews are blank, but do have the file name, when mouse over, just no photos.

Mike, not quite sure I understand.

You opened a 'Recent Catalog', and it seemed to work? All the photos, seem to be there, but they're blank?

Are there '?' icons on either the photos themselves, or the folders in the Left Hand Panel?

You upgraded from 1.x to 2.3? Was there a conversion/upgrade step where the existing catalog was upgraded?

Any chances of a screen shot? You can attach a small JPG to a post, using the Advanced Reply tools.
