Help needed: LR sRGB output with Spyder 3 calibration gives wrong colors

I use Lightroom 2.5 to process my raw files. Within LR colors looks ok, at least very similar to what Canon DPP would generate. The trouble begins when I export images to Jpeg/sRGB: Colors in the resulting Jpegs are a bit different to what I see in LR (e.g a normal light blue sky gets a cyan tint).

I read a thread about a similar problem with the advise that sometimes corrupt windows color profiles can be the cause of this problem. With this in mind I tried to narrow down the problem:

* First I tried to recalibrate the color profile with Spyder 3: No change
* 2nd: Updated the Spyder SW (now SpyderPro 3.12) + recalibration: No change
* 3rd: Used Photoshop only to process the raw and then used "Save for Web": Same problem, but instead using "Convert to Profile" gave correct results.
* 4th: I disabled the Spyder SW and set the default color profile to sRGB: Problem gone! The exported photos have now nearly identical colors as in LR.

But of course now my monitor is not calibrated any more.
So what am I doing wrong?

Some additional information: I'm using Win XP, LR 2.5, CS4, Spyder3Pro 3.12. Monitor is a HP L2445w.

Please elaborate how you "export to JPG". Are you using the Print Module or the Export feature in Library?

I use the Export functionality from the File Menu. In the "File Settings" section I usually select Format=jpeg, Quality=9', Color Space-sRGB. Nothing selected in the "Post-Processing" section.

Sounds suspiciously like a Monitor profiling issue. I'm not really up on them but there have been threads about this same issue.I'm sure someone will give you an answer soon, probably the Queen

I tend to agree with Geoff. Horst, even given your detailed calibration efforts, the fact that you get good results with the sRGB profile, and poor results otherwise, hints at problems with your Spyder profiles. What those might be, I don't know.

What are you using to view the exported images? And it's that HP a wide gamut monitor?

I think I understand now what I was doing wrong: The monitor is a wide gamut monitor and so the assumption that the sRGB photo should look the same in and outside of LR is simply wrong. Looking at an sRGB photo in an not color-aware application will show overly saturated colors and thats what happened to me. So in the end LR and CS4 where showing the correct colors.
