Help. Lightroom has lost my files

All my photos are showing up in the collections. But they are all showing up as "file not found". LR was fine yesterday. This happened today after updating to 12.2.1.
Is anybody else having this problem. LR has created a collection of "Missing Photographs" that includes me entire collection. "Find missing photos" takes me to that collection
but then doesn't do anything. Have tried updated the location of the Folder with photos on my drive. Doesn't change. Could this be a new bug.
Thanks for any help.

No such problems here (Lightroom Classic 12.2.1 on Windows 11). The only listed change for LrC 12.2.1 is fixing the broken sync on Windows. Whilst it is possible that there are other bugfixes, it seems unlikely to have caused your problems.

To check - you definitely cannot bring back the files by right-clicking the parent folder and using "Update Folder Location..."?

Works fine on my Mac, so I doubt this is a new bug. Contrary to how it sounds, “Find Missing Photos” does not locate missing photos for you. All it does is create a list (collection) of all missing photos. It’s up to you to find out where they are on your disk(s). Missing photographs can be caused by a not mounted external drive, or if you renamed a (parent) folder.

IT'S FIXED--at least I am pretty sure. So far so good.
It did have full disk access--but that was good thought.
I believe in copying my folders and catalogue to a new external SSD, I screwed up the parent folder's name
somehow. Fortunately, I kept the old drive which had gotten balky. So I (in the finder with LRC off)
I deleted my old catalogue and replaced the entire thing from my older balky drive. That seemed to
fix the problem. But thanks for all your help--all of you. Sweat beads on my forehead when I see
that all 40K of my pictures are "missing" even though I can still see them !
