Help for new forum user please

Hi Brad, this is Ereka Rignell. I'm sorry, I am new to this forum as well and I do not see where to post a "new thread" for my question. I have been looking through the discussions on "missing files" and have followed the steps to click on the red file, then select "locate missing folder" and then "select" the original folder it pulls up, but that has not done anything. My photos still read "file cannot be opened" and most of my 2'' missing photos I put on lightroom from my SD card verses my CF card which I have had no problems with. I wish that I had gone ahead and imported my photos into iPhoto after I imported them to Lightroom just so I could still print them. I can't do anything with them in Lightroom currently, so I really need some help. Would you please let me know how to get posting on this site, and how to access the response to my question?
I have a mac and Lightroom 1.1, also maybe an upgrade to 2.1 would fix my issue?

Hi Erica, welcome to the forum!

For a start, I'd suggest you download 1.4.1, which is the last 1.x free release. There were a lot of bug fixes along the way. Obviously be sensible and backup first!

If relocating the folder isn't working, try clicking on the question mark on one of the photo thumbnails themselves, and point it to the correct file instead - it should then find the other photos nearby.
