I used LR when it first came out … centuries ago and it was always my go to app for image work.
But I strayed to the dark side ! (when Adobe went subscription only )
Lured away by the shiny knobs and buttons of Capture One. (And tethered shooting)
There’s no doubt C1 is a very very powerful image system but the upgrades are ridiculously expensive and honestly I was not using all the functionality of the program.
So I’m back with LR after more than 10 years away.
Things have changed
A lot
I’m having to relearn skills and discover new ones.
No doubt be searching this forum for answers.
I have been a professional photographer for almost 60 years (!! Yes I know !,)
Did a photography degree course when taking pictures was complicated and darkrooms were smelly.
Started work on a newspaper, then a press agency in Paris, returned to uk , got married, joined the BBC, had children , went freelance , built a studio and now I’m slowing down.
Still have the studio space and a couple of clients who I cherish.
My life without photography would be very empty.
