Greetings all:
My name is Doug Barber and I'm located in Canada.

I'm new to LR and still find myself using LR #1.31.... In most cases I've been using LR as a dam program as most of my image processing is done in PS.

To be honest I'm not 1''% sold on LR as of yet as I find it adds noise to my images and that of course if not good. This issue could very-well be a user motivated so I decided to join your group and try my best to figure out this program and what I'm doing wrong.

My photo work takes me to many corners of the globe but the majority of my time spent dealing with environmental issues at both the North and South Poles. This time is Climate Change related as I follow science work that is being conducted in these regions.

If you are interested....
You can find some of my (personal work) here:

If this site looks old... it is because it is. With luck that will change very soon (I hope)...

My environmental work can be found here:

In closing (and I'm not sure it is important) but I use Nikon Gear... D3's, D2'''s for underwater work and D4'x's for my remote aerial rigs. Finally, I'm a Apple computer user

Cheers
Doug

Hi Doug, welcome to the forum!

You'll find a wealth of information here. I'm interested to know where you're seeing LR add this extra noise, so do start a thread on that one, won't you?

Sounds like fascinating work - we'll look forward to hearing more about it over the course of time.

PS. You might want to upgrade to 1.4.1 now - free upgrade, fixed a fair few bugs too.

Thanks for the comments Victoria:
I will look into upgrading a little as long as this version is not buggy?

As for the niose, I will start a thread as soon as I get time to attach some screenshots and 1''% zooms so folks can see what i'm seeing.

Cheers
Doug

Not buggy.... well it appears to be the most stable to date. ;)
