Currently when I connect my card reader to the computer, Bridge opens and downloads photos. How can I shut that off and get Lightroom to do the same? I'm running Windows XP Pro

Have Lightroom open with card reader and not Bridge

[/quote]Check your LR preference to verify that the checkbox "Show import Dialog when memory card is detected" is checked.
Then in WIndows you need to set or change the Autoplay settings for your device or "Pictures" is pointing to LR and not Bridge.

And you also may want to turn off Adobe Photo Downloader in Bridge preferences while you're at it.
