Grid View with file name only

As a wedding photographer, I often have a need to select a few images by name from the several hundred in a folder - eg prior to printing a client's images. I would love to have the ability to display files names only - preferably in several columns - so that I can avoid having to scroll all the time. ACDSee does this well and speeds up this process significantly.
