graphical identity plate not sharp

hello all,

Im trying to use my logo as the graphical identity plate.

Am using Lightroom 2.6 and in this case on the web tab inside of Lightroom.


It displays ok, but always looks too raster looking. Trying all different sizes too.

Have tried using a png file, have tried using tiff as well. No luck.

Original logo coming from Illustrator, then saving for web as png.

I have also tested if my font is playing up by using a simple font in photoshop and then saving for web as png, but its still the same.

any advice?

Matt, welcome to the forums.

The problem you're encountering there is that particular Identity Plate is limited to a very low pixel resolution, IIRC something on the order of 5'-6' (57?) pixels tall. (Similar to the limitation on OS desktop icons.) Which of course is producing your pixelation issue. Personally, I've found just using a text entry with an appropriate font there works better for me.

Fortunately, this limitation doesn't exist with Identity Plates used as watermarks in Lr's output modules. There, you can use a higher resolution source. Of course you can get in trouble there, as well, if you're outputting/exporting low-rez/down-sampled images.

As long as I hear that its a issue like that and not something that I am doing incorrectly Im happy to hear that.

I might just use a font there from within Lightroom and put the logo small in the corner of the individual images.
