Grad filter?

Hi
I see LR2 has a "Grad Filter", no idea no to use this, however I noted on an other forum, a user stated "wow LR2 is worth the upgrade for the Grad filter alone" Is there any links out there demonstrating this filter as I have given it a go, without much success, failing this would anyone be willing to share a few tips?
