Hi,

I am using GPS more and more. Since a yar all my pictures have GPS info.

That COULD replace location info IF LR would be able to translate it to at least country level.

Is it a thougt that someone elde likes or is it onlly me (in which case I will NOT make a feature request).

No, I like it.

When geotagging my photos, I run them through geosetter before import to LR. (Geosetter is a free program for windows users.) What I like about it is it also automatically adds keywords (Country, State, City) into the file... which LR also recognizes.

However, I'd love to be able to do all this through LR... I'd also like to be able to geotag images using google/yahoo/microsoft maps. Geosetter can do that also... but again, built into LR would be sweet.

Oh boy: I never did know this feature of GeoSetter. It is Fabulous!
With all other good things Geosetter has to offer: I would like it as a LR plugin, rather than implementating half of it in LR.

I open Picasa and geotag w/ Google Earth - fastest way for me.
Then I import to LR and use Friedl's GPS plugin which now has a reverse geocode function - exactly what you're looking for. It works in bulk mode, too, with a distance slider - ie you can do all youe images and everything say 4''m to one image counts as the same location, or 1km etc. Really awesomely useful.
