For many months (years?), I have been using Lightroom's Map module to add GPS locations to photos that the camera did not. Very time consuming, especially the older ones, using Google Earth (especially street view) to track down locations and then compare in the map module. If I check the file properties using Windows Explorer, I find the GPS coordinates in images in which the camera recorded them, such as a cell phone image, but there are none in images where I have linked them in LR's Map Module. Is there a way to imbed those coordinates I added in LR into the actual file so that they will be visible in any other software as part of the file metadata details? I hate to think of the possibility of wasted time using LR.

You can write that metadata to the files using the Metadata menu > Write Metadata to Files command.
