I'm surprised Nack hasn't had a few words on this yes, but there's an article on MacWorld today about how Google and Yahoo search engines will soon be able to index and search through content in Flash SWF files. This could be excellent stuff for photographers choosing to display their work in Flash-based galleries, or who have entirely Flash-based websites. Read the full article.

This really is great news, considering the increased use of flash by photographers as a means of protecting their images from the casual downloader.

More power to the TTG galleries too!. Their popularity is very much deserved.

This will be a huge step for photography. One of the balancing decisions I am continually faced with is the ability for a search engine to see changing content and consistent themes in web content to help with the search result rankings. Flash, while it is beautiful and has great user interaction, doesn't show the changing content or text.

The ability of these search engines to read through the flash file and see the updates of adding new galleries or read the captions and text that might be generated would be extremely helpful.

Matt, can you post the source of the article so we can read it too?

Thanks for all your work at TTG!
