Hi all - I've only found this site today and have spent ages enjoying the tonnes of info on it! Great. However, I haven't found the info I specifically need. :(

The problem I'm running into is this. When I'm automating a flash slideshow to upload into one of the pages on my website, I want the show to link back to a 'home' page on the site. I do this by changing the 'Contact Info' field to (say) 'Back to Home Page', and then in the 'Web or Mail Link' field put a web-link - something like this (for e.g.): dirname/index.html - where the directory name is the root of the page I want the slideshow to revert back to.

But it doesn't work! Written as above, it simply generates an e-mail client window, putting 'dirname/index.html' as the recipient.

Now, if I write 'http://www.xxxx/dirname/index.html' in the field, I don't get the e-mail client window... but I then get a 4'4 error as the page that the site attempt to open reads: 'http://www.xxxx.com/www.xxxx.com/dirname/index.html' .

Can anyone help - it's driving me nuts!!!

TIA

Nige, Welcome

While we're waiting for one of our web gurus to respond, I think you're on the right track. Are you getting the error in local preview testing, or after you've uploaded? I think the remote URL/homelink will fail when using Lr's "Preview in Browser ..." option, but will work OK once installed on your website.

I remember implementing your idea experimentally, quite some time ago, and getting it working, but I'll defer to the more experienced members.

Thanks, Brad.

You're right. It was an error on my part - it wasn't working in my off-line browser, but works a treat when I upload it to the server.

Sorted...

Thanks.
