Yep, that's me.
Living in a small town down here in New Zealand, a country that is a photographers dream.
I've been interested in photography since I can remember, starting from a very early age. First camera was a Pentax Spotmatic F and progressed to Nikon with a lovely black F2. Started in the "industry" about 25 years ago as a sales rep for the NZ Nikon disributors, later moving on to co-own and operate a Nikon exclusive shop in Auckland. Have visited Nikon as their guest and toured the factory where the new D3 is being made.
Now use a D2'' (which is a great model) and a few lenses including some manual ones. Manual is kinda cool !!
Later worked with Gretag minilabs and owned the 3rd digital model they produced. That was very interesting and has a lot of relevance to the work with Lightroom. At this time I started with an Mac 96'' and Photoshop 2. The minilab was an export plug-in and Photoshop was Mac only. I still use Macs and see no reason to change - too easy for someone like me with NO computer training.
Today I have "retired" to the country and am doing what I really wanted to do - be a photographer!! What a wonderful privilege it is to be able to do what I like. My forte has been landscape/nature but more and more I am getting hooked on people - they are just so beautiful!
I now know how little I know!!

Seen that Profile Photo before!

Geoff The Kiwi, the most laid back LR User I know!

So... what Nikon do you shoot now?

Planning on a D3? I saw some incredible high ISO images from a D3'' and I was impressed.

Better buy a Lotto ticket.
Still getting around the D2'' so maybe a D3'' next year, will wait for the fuss to die down and see then.
Kinda funny as I used to get the very first of everything, usually before release, now it doesn't bother me at all.

I've slowed down, a little, with my gear. I wouldn't mind having a 1D Mark III, but the IIN works very well for me at the moment. I'm surprised, however, that I haven't gotten one anyway. Seems to be my way... damn be the finances, full steam ahead!

I must be getting old !! But I try less to rely on the tools and more getting the operator up to speed and that's a big job!!

I'm old enough to know better, but gadgets are my vice. iPhone, Macs (plural), camera equipment, blah blah blah... I love technology. I do hate being poor, but I love technology more.

Been there, done that! Be poor for technology, that is!!!!

LOL

Yeah... now the trick is to be good with the stuff...

Something shiny jingles just outside of Ian's view.

Ooh... what was that!

I think I'm very "untypical" (is that a word?) for being female. I looooove gadgets!! I wish I could afford all the fun stuff and I could play with it forever!

You and me, both! Have you noticed there seems to be very few female members here at the moment too!

I was just thinking about that!!! It looks like we're the odd ones out... the geeky females!! (Told you we had lots in common!) :D

Nothing wrong with that!
