Gallery Module?

I got lightroom a few weeks ago, and have been working my way through all of the features. It's alot to learn, but this forum has been an excellent resource to me.

I did a search for similar posts on this idea, but turned up empty. So here it goes.

My biggest complaint/concern/problem so far has been the inability to just 'view' my pictures. Sure we have the library module, which works great for applying keywords, metadata, and quick developing images. But what about a module where one could just look at the images, and sort using the keywords.

This is where my problem comes in, and maybe it's just be not being patient and not using the program to the best of it's abilities. But when I want to find a certain image, currently I can either go into library and use the filter keywords to search, or use the keywords themselves. I've found that when searching for images using the keywords on the righthand toolbar, that I've on more than one occassion changed some of the keywords applied to that image. This becomes (atleast to me) a big hassle when I find wrong keywords attached to images.

So my solution would be a different module, something like a 'Gallery' module, where you have the full range of searching options, except you can't change anything. All keywords/meta data would be locked, and you would have to go back into library to change anything.

What does everyone think? Operator error on my end, or is it a worthwhile idea?

HV, welcome to the forums. We've seen the concept suggested before. Most everybody gets caught by inadvertent changes occasionally. If you feel strongly enough to make the effort, we urge you to take advantage of the link to Adobe's official feature request system via the link on the toolbar at the top of the thread.
