full screen distortion?

I have a very strange problem...I just installed lightroom1.3 When I view any graphic in full mode, the pic is all(colored) snowy, i the only word I can think of to describe it. It happens in full screen only.
Maybe snowy screen wasn't the right choice of words.
It's as if the file is corrupt, or maybe missing a codec. I'll try to explain a little better.
I'll bring a picture in lightroom to enhance . Now the pictures all display fine. But when I click a picture to enhance or just click view full screen, the picture seems to just turn into lines of all different colors, and has a look of static or snow:cry:
My Pc is
XP
Presario Compac SR1365CL
HD 25'gb
DDR Ram 1.5g
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Anita, any chance you could post a screen shot?

Why LR 1.3? LR1.4.1 is the current version. (And if using 1.3, is it the 1.3.1 version?)

Your terminology of "enhance", and "full screen" doesn't exactly correspond to Lightroom functions, although I think I understand what you're saying. Without seeing a sample, I'll ask, is it possible you're looking at highly zoomed images? That will show pixelation effects, although that doesn't sound like what you're reporting.

If you can get a screen capture, that would help alot. To attach the capture to a forum post, make sure it's in jpg or png format. Below the text entry box where you enter your post is 'Additional Options", one of which is a button labeled "Manage Attachments". Click that, and direct it to your screen capture file.

Thanks for your help. I found the solution.

A while back I installed a program called 'Driver Magician" It's suppose to check PC for out dated drivers. Long story short, it installed a utility called SIS VGA utility. I was just going backwards trying to undo anything I may have done, and came upon that. I went to uninstall it, and got an error message that it couldn't uninstall for some reason. When I restarted PC, The resolution had changed. After resetting it to the correct resolution everything seemed to be fine. Go figure! Thanks for your help
