Macbook pro apple m4 max 64GB
catalog on ssd sandisk 4tb - have used 2.69tb
back up destination WD external drive 6tb 600gb free. Is that enough space - even for a compressed zipped file?
Story:
I tried to back up lightroom classic on exit tonight - from the SSD the catalog is stored, on to another external hard drive with i thought plenty of space - and the progress bar has never got past the backing up Lightroom Catalog back and forth, with no time remaining and nothing progressing for 5 hours - it normally takes about 1.5 hrs to do.
the folder is showing on the hard drive destination that the back up should go to, but other than being created at 5.41pm, is empty. the 'cancel'. button on the progress bar doesnt work, and i have the rainbow spinning wheel - and the application says not responding. am i safe to force quit - or just close the lid of the computer? Will the files be potentially lost?
Yours, panicked as it's a huge catalog
