When importing, before doing anything else, the history shows two lines:
"From Matadata
Import /Camera...
"
Why does it say, "From Metadata"?

Solution
If you click on the first line (Import), does the photo look exactly the same as after the From Metadata? In other words, has metadata actually changed anything?
To answer your question, yes, they both look the same. Anyway, problem solved. It was a keyword in the metadata preset that I had put in a long time ago.

I had a issue a few weeks back with the import preset not defaulting to the previous one used. It was because a keyword was used in the develop preset (a known issue apparently). That was rectified. Just today, the same keyword appeared. I had forgotten that I also had that keyword put in via a metadata preset. That was rectified and the "From Metadata" no longer appears. All good. Thanks guys!
Hey Bob, I'm just clearing through old unanswered threads, sorry we missed this one. Without any additional context, it sounds like maybe there were some settings stored in/with the file. Which camera and file type, and where are they coming from?

The camera is an OMS OM-1. The images are ORFs coming from an SD card straight out of the camera and via a USB card reader. The ORFs are converted to DNG on import.
