Folder problems within lightroom

Hi
Im having problems renaming my folders within lightroom. Currently version 2.4 but the problem started in version 2.3
The problem suddenly appeared one day.

When i try to rename a folder in lightroom this is what happens.
-It creates a new folder with the new name. And the photos shows up in this folder.
-The original folder still shows up in lightroom (with a ? mark and ' pictures), but not in finder. (Outside of Lightroom).
When i try to right click and remove the original folder nothing happens. I cant seem to remove this folder.

Any ideas?

I dont run any automated backups n´or am running lightroom on several machines.

Ok, I could rename the folders when importing but this wouldn't be right for the me. I might import several days of footage sorted by date
and then maybe weeks later id open lightroom and start going thrue the images. Deleting what i dont wont. And renaming folders.

Welcome Robert.......That is strange!! Could you fill in your system etc in your signature, presume it's Mac though. It will help sorting out issues - thanks... What menu are you getting when you attempt to rename a folder? Putting up a screen shot might help.

Well here I found a solution :icon_neutral: . As long as the folder i wont to rename in lightroom is highlighted it makes a new folder. The solution was to make sure that an other folder were higlighted when I right click and renames the folder i wont to rename.

Strange but it works for me.
