Flag Status not staying when editing?

When I edit a flagged file in photoshop its not wanting to keep the flag after I save it, I have to go back and flag it again to show up. Is there a setting for this now because this isn't how it worked in lightroom v1. In lightroom v1 one you would flag it and the edited version would stay flagged?

I can't remember exactly what 1.x's behaviour was, but flags have always been local to the folder or collection. Use star ratings or color labels if you want them to follow the file. And welcome to the forum!

This is really messing up my work flow. In 1.x you would have a file flagged(and and whatever elseratings, and when you edited in Photoshop and then saved it, all labels would be retained flag, rating, color etc. Why they would change this beats me.

The reason it messes up my workflow is that I like to only have my files that are flagged visible. Well when you edit a flagged file and it is then saved it’s not visible. So you have to turn off the flag library filter. Re-flag the file then turn back on the flag in the library filter again. Sometimes lightroom will turn off the flag filter for you so you can see the flagged files but if you don't remember to reflag the file again and then turn back on the library filter to you can only see your flagged files it’s not there anymore. I was hoping that it’s just a sitting somewhere now and not a redesign of how lightroom works. This stinks...

Are you working with CS3 - where it opens the file directly into PS now instead of creating the Tiff/PSD first? I'd guess it's down to the way it carries the metadata. One thing you could try - set CS3 as the 'additional external editor' and try using that one - that takes it back to the old behaviour of creating a tiff/psd first, which I would think may retain your current workflow.
