first it worked flawlessly,now it doesn't even start

hi there,
after having installed 2.2 a few days ago and having really enjoyed it, now it doesn't open anymore, only says <app quit unexpectedly> and that's it.
tried overinstalling, updating 2.1, trashing prefs [com.adobe.Lightroom2.plist] from userlib, done lots of restarts,reset Parameterram, the works, nothing helps.
what next ?
p.s. hi geoff, as you're the one closest to me in time, do you have an idea?

Hold down Opt while you start and let it start a fresh catalog and see if that'll work.

So does it get as far as the dialog which lets you choose the catalog?

Ok, from the top...

1. Delete ALL LR prefs files (LR1 and LR2)
2. Move the presets folder in case it's a corrupted preset
3. Uninstall all traces of LR
4. Reinstall LR
5. Hold down Opt to start a fresh catalog
6. Try a fresh user account on your Mac temporarily

hi vic,
thanks for the help, did repair permissions, then steps1-4, then serial,then it opened a fresh cat by itself , then did open cat, let it open my old one, relaunched and optimized.
now I have to reimport my presets and hopefully...bingo
