Obviously I am confused but here is my question. I use LR classic on a Mac and have for years kept my originals in Dropbox after import to Lr. Then with Lr mobile I sync and when I am on my iPad or iPhone I can use Lr mobile for edit/flagging/etc. Now I have started to upload may pictures (raw from Nikon DX7100) directly in Lr mobile , sync and then when I get home I sync Lr classic on Mac. My question is 1) are my originals that I loaded from iPhone in the Lr cloud? And 2) in the future how can I figure out where my originals are? In cloud or on my Dropbox? Note I am sure I will be doing a mix of Lr mobile imports and Lr classic imports so this may start to get confusing, redundant, and space limiting somewhere.

All images that you import into LrMobile (or Lightroom Desktop or Lightroom Web) will be stored in original form in your Adobe cloud account. If you also sync your Classic catalog with the cloud, a copy of all the originals in the cloud that were added from any of the Lightroom apps will also download to the Classic catalog....so you would have two copies of each original, one in the cloud managed by Lightroom, and the other on a local disk managed by Classic. In Classic's Preferences>Lightroom Sync tab, you can set the location of those originals that are downloaded from the cloud, and you can also choose to have them stored in one of the standard date-based folder structures.....so there would be no reason why you can't choose to have them stored in your local Dropbox folder.

Note that many Classic users will import some images from LrMobile (often, of course, pictures taken with their phone) but will try to stay within their basic 20GB of cloud allowance. To do that, their typical workflow is to wait until the new phone imports have arrived in their Classic catalog, at which point they would delete them from the Adobe cloud, by removing them from the All Synced Photographs special collection in Classic. That action "unsyncs" the image, so it is deleted from the cloud but the downloaded copy remains in Classic.....if the user then wants to have their images accessible on their mobile devices they would re-sync them from Classic, which only uploads a smart preview (2560px on the long edge) which does not count against that 20GB cloud space.
