Hello,

Following some server problems I found I had some imports which would not open in the develop module, they gave an "Unexpected End of File" message.

I now think I've fixed the root problem and I have re-imported any pictures I knew to have the problem. However, there may be others..... Is there any way to ask lightroom to try and open each picture and tell me which ones it had a problem with?

Thanks,

Aedan

Maybe you can try to select ALL pictures and then re-render standard previews? It will most probably stop on the culprits...

Hi Denis,

I did as you suggested but it does not seem to render the previews if they already exist, thus it took about 2 seconds to check a couple of hundred images and did not find any bad ones.

I then tried to export a bunch of images to a junk directory with a very high jpeg compression (so the files are small). It took a while but it found two images with the end-of-file problem. I'll try that on the complete catalog overnight some night.

Thanks for your help,

Aedan

Hi Denis,

Exporting everything worked though it took almost 24hours. Out of 27,13' images five were corrupt. Two were so recent they were still on my Camera's CF card so I just imported them again, I'll try and get the others off backups.

If anyone else ever has to do this to remember to expand all stacks first, otherwise only the top picture in each stack gets exported.

Thanks for your help,

Aedan
