I try to type in a word and it only takes the first letter and it takes forever.
Also if you purge unused keywords does it delete them or put them in a file or folder?

Purge unused would remove them from the catalog. Are you trying to filter or to add keywords? Your post is not really clear.

Umberto- first trying to filter to manipulate a hierarchy of keywords. When I enter the first letter in the filter window it will not show the 2nd 3rd etc. letters. And it takes for ever to show up in the box. Thank you Ed

This is normal. It filters based on the character string you have entered. It's not a selection fields as for entering keywords. Instead, it displays the keywords starting with the character string you've entered, with their hierarchy. As soon as you type in an other letter, the filter is more restrictive and the keyword list decreases.

How many keywords do you have? I could see it taking a long time if you have many thousands of them. Also, how much memory does your computer have, and how modern is it? What other processes are running?

When i type in only one letter than it takes a whole lot of time to show the results.
However, when i type in quick the first three characters of the word i'm looking for, the response is very quick (on a total of almost 17.000 keywords).

Are we all talking about the filter in the Keywords List panel?

I have about 4000 keywords and when I type in the letter "e" in to the Keywords List filter I get a response in a second or two which is quite a long list. Typing additional letters responds just as quickly.

@coachejp How many keywords do you have defined in your catalog?
