Heya. Suppose I have keywords set up like this...

North America
California
Oakland
San Francisco
etc...
Oregon
South America
etc...

... and I keyword my California photos by city, except that some of the photos were taken on unincorporated land and thus don't have a city. Is there a way to filter based on the "California" keyword, so as not to include the City child keywords?

Also, is it likewise possible to select a folder in the library, and have it only display images that are in that folder, but not in any child folders?

Thanks!

As to your folder question, under Library on the Menu Bar at the top, uncheck Include Photos from Subfolders

And for the parent keyword, go to the Metadata Filter bar, and select Keywords from the list - but then the catch - just to the right of the column header is an extra flyout menu - tiny little thing - and switch it from hierarchical to flat view. If you can't find it, I'll dig out a screenshot for you.
