I'm trying to export some images for use as thumbnails with a filename that contains the 'developed' cropped size of the image. For example...
I have a DNG image which is 4288 x 2848 pixels. I have cropped it in LR to 4''' x 28''. I want to export it with a file name like <filename>_4'''x28''.

If I choose Dimensions in the file naming template I get MyFile_4288x2848 as expected.
If I choose Cropped in the file naming template I get MyFile_2''x14' which is the exported size, not the cropped size in LR.

Anyone else know of another way to achieve this ?

One option, if we can't come up with a better one - run 2 consecutive exports - a temporary full res cropped (i.e. the 4'''x28'' file), import that, and export that file to thumbnail, before then deleting the full res cropped?

Thanks for the idea Victoria, but I think that would be too much hassle ;-)

Useless information of the day: my brother lives in Southampton and I used to visit there quite a bit. Used to go sailing from a club in Gosport. (I used to live in Oakley just outside Basingstoke)

Small world!

I have been playing with this further....

If I select a single image for export then it does what I want and names the file with the 'developed' cropped dimensions. If I select multiple images for export then it uses the export dimensions for all but the first selected image...

Even more annoying be one step closer !

Now that IS interesting Nik. Bug report time, methinks!
