Failure To Launch

I'm trying to download LR2 as an upgrade from 1.4 to an iMac running OS X 1'.5.4 with a 3.'6 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo processor. The new download manager opens up on my desktop and I tell it to save the file to my desktop. The download creates an icon on the desktop and, when the download reaches 1''%, the launch dailogue box appears. I click launch and nothing happens. I try "open"ing the icon on the desktop and nothing happens. I've also tried this with the popup blocker turned off on Safari.

Anyone else have this experience or know what's up. Since I must run off to my real job I don't have 3' min to spend on the phone waiting for help from Adobe so I'll check the forum again from my work computer. Thanks for any suggestions.

Trying dragging/dropping the Lightroom 2.' dmg file from your desktop into the Applications folder.

Note this will create a new Lightroom in applications if you already had Lightroom 1.4 installed. Also, if you had a LR 1.4 icon in your dock, you will need to drag the LR 2.' icon to the dock inorder to access the newer version. Hope this helps.

It Was There All Along

I guess I missed the instruction or it was in the download instruction window that flashed on my screen for 3 seconds before the download manager but, as suggested by Victoria, the dmg was mounted as a device in the left column of the finder window. A simple click and my installation was underway.

Possible valuable info for another iMac user: after the download manager says it's finished, check that left hand column in the finder window.
