I started scanning index cards with my scanner, set at 75 dpi. It created a jpeg file that was 66 KB, perfect size for pasting into a Word document. There will be many of these cards pasted into the document. HOWEVER, utilizing the scanner was a burden. It was slow and i had to deal with the scanner software which is not very sophistocated. I decided to utilize my digital camera to scan the cards. There are only two jpeg size settings in the camera - larger and smaller. The images ranged from 1100 KB to 1700 KB. I imported them into Lightroom and then attempted to export them with the "Limit file size to" checkbox checked and the size set to 100 KB, only to receive the message "Could not create a JPEG that met your limit of 100K bytes. Please increase the file size limit." With the "Limit file size to" box checked, the quality checkbox (also under file settings on the export menu is greyed out. How would you set Lightroom export parameters to achieve a file size of 100 KB (plus or minus)?
