Hi:

This may be a silly question, but is it possible to export layered TIFF (or PSD fort hat matter) files contained in a Lightroom library so that they retain their individual layers/without being flattened?

Yes, use 'Export Original'. You can't export a resized layered tiff or psd though.

Hi Johan:

Thanks for your quick reply. How do you "Export Original"? I don't see it under the File > Export options. Do you mean the "Edit in" options?

In the Export dialog box section "File Settings", Image Format can be selected. The last entry is Original.

Got it now. Thanks a million! One more question. What rendering intent does Lightroom use to convert color spaces when exporting? I like to use Perceptual Rendering Intent in Photoshop when sending files to an external lab.

If you are Exporting a file to go to a print lab, do it in the Print module. At the bottom of the print module’s right panel, “Print Job” section, it starts with Print to: Printer with up/down arrows next to the word print. Click on the arrows and the drop down will let you select JPG.

And just in case you're wondering, the normal Export dialog uses Relative Colorimetric.
