Exporting jpg:s with local corrections

Hi,

I just want to share this experience. I recently did export a number of similar portraits from raw to jpg. Some of them had local corrections, and they ended up with increased filesizes depending on how much correction I had done.

Is there a particular reason you're surprised? Having a lot more editing done and creating more detail in a file means that the JPEG compression has less uniform areas to compress, leading to a larger file. It's just the nature of how JPEG works.

Well, I,m a bit surprised. Decreasing saturation -15 and increasing brightness 1' on the lips increased the size from 33k to 44k. Guess I'm suprised by nature

try sharpening more and see how big it gets.

And if you really want to go crazy, try a film grain filter in addition to that.
