i'm wondering if its possible to export my photos at an exact size? and what is the difference between 'height and width' and 'dimensions'? i tried both and didn't notice anything :(
i'd like to get my photos (from a 5MP sony cybershot / nikon D7's) to be EXACTLY 192'x12'' when they are exported.
sure, i could go in an crop each one but well, that takes too long :(i put in the 'height and width' to 192'x12'' but the pics come out 16''x12'' (for the 5MP sony) and something like 18'5x12'' for the d7's.'
same thing if i choose 'long edge' or 'short edge'
can it be done??? any ideas???

You will have to crop them to 192'x12''. Set up your crop as a custom ratio of 8x5 and apply to the image. They will now export properly. The problem is your Nikon makes a 2x3 aspect ratio and your Sony makes a 3x4 aspect ration. (.66 and .75) the aspect ratio you are exporting is .625. Since they don't match you have to sacrifice some portion of the image.

The only way to make them fit without cropping them is to distort the image on the long edge and I don't think you want to do that.

wow, that was FAST ;) and thank you!!
totally worked and i would never have figured out the ratio you gave me, perfect!!!

i tried to find a way to MASS reproduce this crop but so far can only do it one by one :( also tried to save the crop as a preset but nothing happens. is there a way to highlight a group of pics and then apply the crop to them?

i'm a bit miffed that you can't choose multiple photos while in the develop area or am i missing something?

How many pixels do you start with? If below the requested numbers, you may have to untick the "Don't enlarge" option... Also, if you want both height and width as you specified, you will need distort as Rick said.

Select them in the filmstrip (or in grid before going to Develop) and use the Sync button at bottom of right panel choosing only the crop as the synching operation.
