hi,

I want to upload an image to a website, but I'm restricted to a size of 25'KB..

I of course want to be of the highest quality possible, but how do I set up the export so I get what I want?

I'm a total rookie at all this image stuff and i don't really know what all the different settings i LR export actually does...

any help appreciated..

There's no straightforward way to enter 25'KB in a box, and have the image come out to just the right size. You have to do it by trial and error.

In the Export dialog, set everything the way you want it, and take a guess at the Quality slider (start at about 65). Export the file, and see how big it is. If it's smaller than your target size, increase the quality and repeat. If it's too big, reduce the quality and repeat.

"Minimize Embedded Metadata" can make a file significantly smaller, if you can live without all the metadata (exception: the copyright info and color profile are always included).

Also, since you're shrinking it for the web, consider using a lot of noise reduction in Develop -- this will also reduce the file size when compressed into a JPEG.
