Exporting an image - Synchronise Folder

When I edit a RAW file within LR and then 'Export' the image as a JPEG back to a folder on my PC which is in the LR catalog, I have to 'Synchronise Folder' to see the exported JPEG within LR. Is there a setting which avoids the synchronising step please?

Yes, when you export there's an "Add to this catalog" checkbox in the top section of the export dialog.
