Export to Smugmug plugin problem - PROBLEM SOLVED!

Updated LR to 1.3 last Friday and today downloaded and installed Jeff Friedl's "Export to Smugmug" plug-in from his site. After loading the plug-in I exported a file, closed LR normally and went about my business. Later on, I brought up LR, exported another file(to disk) and found that the "Minimize/Normal/Full Screen" buttons(equivalent to the MAC red/yellow/green upper-left buttons) in the upper-right corner of the program window had disappeared! Then I found that my taskbar, which is usually set to Auto-Hide wouldn't come up when hovering over the bottom of the screen.

So I used the File-Exit command to close LR and disabled auto-hide for the taskbar. Brought up LR again and found that the right-click on the Lightroom tab in the taskbar had been disabled. So I went into Explorer, found the folder I had created to hold the plug-in and deleted the plug-in. Restarted the computer, opened LR, same results. LR comes up maximized and nothing can change it.

Normally, I run LR in a less-than-maximum size so I can stretch the left panel onto my second monitor. Can't recall ever running it maximized, definitely not since the 1.3 update. Didn't have the problem before installing the plug-in.

Any suggestions, short of a LR uninstall/reinstall?

You might try placing a comment with your problems on Jeffrey's Blog. He is good about answering. Remember, though, he is in Japan, so his hours good be quite different from yours.

Don, thanx for the suggestion. I thought of it myself right after posting here so I went over to the blog and posted a link to here.

So far no response but it's the holiday and everything and I haven't had time to play with the computeranyway.

Update!!!

After a couple of hours un-installing, re-installing, going back to earlier versions, registry cleaning, rolling back drivers, updating drivers, etc., ad nauseum, all to no avail......

I finally discovered the "Window-Screen Mode-Standard Screen Mode" command. Ever have one of those DUUUHHH! moments?

I still can't figure out how it got changed to "Full Screen With Menu" but I'm happy to have everything right again.

Geoff, thanx for the recommendation but I'll pass. I first saw a Mac at a computer store in Tallahassee, Florida back in 1984 and wanted one then and there. Unfortunately, it cost about the same as a good used car and ol' Stevie J has done his best to keep up with inflation........ I'd rather spend the money on a 2''-4''VR or a D3. :mrgreen:

Bill - getting into fullscreen mode is as simple as hitting the F key (no modifier). You could have dropped something on your keyboard without noticing it....
